Role: Culinary Concept Developer & Experience Designer
Partners: Eat ME | Box Design: Farah Al Zeer | Client: Halo Studios for Zegna
Concept
Halo Studios approached PPS with a fast-turn brief: create 200 custom Eid boxes for Zegna — one of the world’s top luxury menswear brands — during the final ten days of Ramadan. The goal? Design an elevated, culturally grounded gifting experience centered on the date.
Inspired by the brand’s moodboard, PPS landed on a concept that paid homage to the Ramadan moon: Moon Date Bites. Seven handcrafted flavors drew from Middle Eastern and Italian ingredients, blending memory, migration, and ritual in bite-sized form.
What We Did
Culinary Concept & Flavor Development – PPS designed a full flavor journey across seven custom bites, including combinations like Cardamom Espresso, Sumac Truffle Honey, Za’atar Chocolate Biscotti, and Balsamic Pomegranate Baci — a nod to founder Ayesha’s past culinary research in Italy.
Collaborative Production & Assembly – Working closely with Eat ME, PPS led four overnight production shifts, crafting over 1500 pieces from scratch. This included date-sourcing, chocolate tempering, sugar crystallizing, and multiple rounds of sensory testing.
Packaging Direction & Art Collaboration – PPS brought in designer Farah Al Zeer to create a moon-inspired box design that felt both modern and ceremonial. Eat ME oversaw the fabrication and logistics of delivery.
Team Building & Process Management – A team of eight women led the production sprint, navigating tight timelines, equipment breakdowns, and over 28 kilos of dates — completing PPS’s largest culinary commission to date.
